EECMY/DASSC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

1.     Raise awareness and design action plan for making Wholistic Ministry concept clear and practical at all levels.

2.     Promote people-centred approaches to development - human rights based approach, conflict handling, peace promotion, democratic culture, etc., based on Biblical teaching and positive approach to empower the people.

3.     Emphasize decentralized, participatory and transparent planning, monitoring and evaluation at all levels (with government involvement, where feasible).

4.     Harmonize partners’ priorities with genuine local needs (qualify EECMY to represent and negotiate these local needs). Develop clear guidelines that promote transparency both ways to work with all partners - local and international.

5.     Promote innovative approaches and people's participation; strengthen local organizations and capacities; address poverty in connection with peace, conflict management and advocacy for poverty-focused development work.

6.     Design development programs that enable communities to reverse vulnerability and which are area/situation specific. Link development with disaster preparedness and aversion strategies.

7.     Mainstreaming the Gender and Development (GAD) approach: make it mandatory in all programs. Analyze the situation, needs and potentials of women under the GAD perspective in all relevant programs/areas. Enhance women participation and their situation in their communities through joint situation analysis and action planning with them.

8.     Networking with other churches, aid agencies, partners, non-governmental as well as government organizations and the communities at large.

9.     EECMY/DASSC to look for a mechanism of economic self–reliance and sustainability of the programs and projects.

10.      EECMY/DASSC to maintain its relation with partners (government, donors and communities) by improving program planning and management capacity.
